Those who drive for work may be some of the most experienced drivers on our roads, but they represent one of the highest-risk categories of driver, with one-in-four of them experiencing accidents each year. Within your business there may be drivers who cover high motorway miles, visit unfamiliar urban or rural locations, or visit places where parking is at a premium. It’s likely that they are all vulnerable to distractions, from in-vehicle technology and the pressures of work itself.
Our Skills Development Sessions are on-road modular training sessions, designed to focus on specific driving challenges, providing training targeted to drivers' individual needs. They are ideal as a progression from our Driving for Work course, in cases where a driver has identified certain areas for further development, or as a standalone training tool for drivers whose jobs entail specific needs.
We have identified seven key areas that often prove challenging for drivers, and have created a set of on-road training sessions focusing on developing the skills required to deal effectively with those specific types of road or driving scenario.
Just like our Driving for Work course, these modules are practical on-road courses delivered by our network of Fleet Registered Approved Driving Instructors, and are carried out in the delegate’s own work vehicle.
