To All Group members

Annual General Meeting planned for Sunday 29th March 2020

Corvid-19 emergency

Further to the health advice issued by Her Majesty’s Government dated 16th March 2020: Would you please note that, with regret, we have postponed the Group Annual General Meeting originally planned for Sunday, 29th March 2020.

The Annual General Meeting is an important meeting in our calendar  of meetings: it is at that meeting where we take the opportunity to review the Group’s activities since the previous General Meeting, confirm and refresh the membership of the Group Committee and to set out what the near future may hold for the Group.

Given the very unusual circumstances of the current health emergency we are obliged to postpone the meeting until 27 September 2020.

After consultation with IAM RoadSmart Area Manager, Mr Scott Tulip, we are to proceed as follows:

  • The AGM will be postponed indefinitely until the circumstances of the current health emergency are resolved and a new date can be set for the next AGM.

  • The membership of the current group committee will remain in place.

  • A pro-temp Chief Observer will be co-opted onto the committee to replace the retiring prior Chief Observer.

It should be obvious that whilst the current emergency and associated strictures are in place, there will be little or no Group activity. We share with you any feeling of regret at this situation. However, we are sure that you know the current situation is entirely beyond our control. All we can do, in line with the Government’s health advice is to co-operate with the advice given. In the meantime, please look out for any communications coming from the Group Committee who will continue to serve the needs of the Group, as far as possible, from home and on-line.
