IAM Lincolnshire Off To A Flying Start

Posted on 14/03/20 |

After yet another record year in 2019 with 110 new associates, a 100% increase on 2018, 53 Advanced Driving Test passes of which 33% were F1RSTs - IAM Lincolnshire has had a flying start to the new decade.

With 66 drivers currently taking an Advanced Driving Course, it is expected over 100 will have passed the qualification by the end of 2020.

The photograph shows the guest speaker, Wing Commander, David Bolsover, RAF retired, and Chair/Chief Observer, Roger Hicks, with the latest batch of associates to receive their certificates at this month members meeting.

David Bolsover, fast jet pilot and former boss of the Red Arrows, also received his own certificate having recently passed his test with a F1RST. He then gave a fascinating talk on his current role in charge of the G force training facility at RAF Cranwell and showed a video of him landing a Buccaneer aircraft with no undercarriage down following a catastrophic hydraulic failure!
