TD Ride Saturday 5th Oct
Thompson's Fish & Chips A64, York via Mile Cafe Pocklington
Lead: Pete Tidball

A dry day for the ride to the Training Destination at Thompson's Chippy on the A64 outside York being led by Pete going via the very pleasant Mile Cafe in Pocklington, but try as I might, I cannot remember numbers and no team Piccy means I have no reference, but those who did attend know who you are, I know I was one of them as i was back marker.

So after a briefing and roughish description of the route, We lined up at the gate for the usual route through Sherburn, Cawood, Escrick, Wheldrake, all at a steady pace allowing everyone to keep together with little marking required at junctions, and little traffic, not even the usual police Camera Van in view on the Stillingfleet to A19 stretch. And again the usual route through Elvington, Sutton on Derwent etc., we ended up in Pocklington, Here Pete decided to use a new route through the town much to everyone's surprise, and by the looks we got!! even the residents got a shock as we all trundled round the narrow back streets before eventually turning Right to the roundabout and Left to run down Mile Road to the cafe for our T&P Stop.

A lot of discussion followed as to the route taken in Pocklington, but as we found out later, Pete has a few funny ideas on Routes, and after an excellent cuppa, we mounted up again for part 2 to Thompson's Chippie, So off we go Left our of the Cafe and Heading for Millington ( Giving the woods a miss ) we head on up toward the A166 and crossing over toward and down to Thixendale, Here everyone thought a run along the valley bottom was the way to go, But No, A Right back up a narrow lane and off we go, only the pop out onto the A166 in Fridaythorpe, with a left at Seaways,

( Lots of bikers watching our little group ride past the Cafe ) and away we go, through Fimber and then Left onto the B1248 for Malton.

In North Grimston we Turned Left and headed down to Eddlethorpe, Turning Left again onto the Buttercrambe TT, at he Narrow Bridge we met a few motorist looking nervous as they negotiate the narrow stone entrance / Bridge parapets, The Range Rover behind me stopped, looking kind of wide eyed, as we went on to turn Right for Sand Hutton, The A64 and a Left down to the Chippie for a alfresco ( nice weather to dine out ) Fish & Chip lunch, very busy with associates, T5ers etc.

Thanks to Pete for the ride Lead and everyone who attended
PS! as we failed to get a team piccy, here's one i took of the Arctic Circle Visitor Centre, nothing to do with Fish & Chips, but it got your attention.
