Get more from your Driving

One of IAM RoadSmart's key goals is to help its Members and Associates develop the advanced skills that help make driving a more enjoyable and rewarding experience.  Being an advanced driver is a journey of continuous learning and one of its key stages is the internationally recognised Advanced Test. Pioneered by the IAM, it is this for which they are perhaps best known.  Here at Wessex Advanced Motorists, we can help you towards passing the Advanced Driving Test and maintaining those newly acquired skills.

WAM says goodbye to David Perkins

Aug 23, 2017, 08:56 AM by Wessex Admin
Wessex Advanced Motorists (WAM) recently lost David Perkins national observer (NO) and local observer assessor (LOA). David and his wife Jo (pictured) have relocated from Yeovil to Solihull. David was chairman and chief observer of the Camelot Group based in Yeovil until its closure three years ago; he quickly joined what was then the Taunton Group of Advanced Motorists (recently rebranded to Wessex Advanced Motorists (WAM). Andrew Griffiths, new group chairman, said: “He was instrumental in training our group observers for the IMI local observer qualification. He will be missed by colleagues in WAM and we wish him and Jo a happy life in Solihull where David plans to continue to offer his skills as an NO.” David was presented with a clock in the form of a car wheel made from ash and oak.
