Introducing Mr Leigh Mynott

I started on 50cc and 125cc as a 16/17 yr old and honestly forgot the feeling of freedom as when my shiny new car license arrived at 18 I was a “driver”.

Over the years I’ve seen lots of bikes that I wished I could ride and over lockdown decided to progress to a full license at the age of 40, the childhood dream was to ride the ninja ZX12R.

After taking a lockdown theory test, CBT and some basic training and a full DAS course in July this year I passed my full bike test. After 1 ride on the green beast I instantly knew that further training was required so I looked for an advanced course as I really had bitten off more than I could chew with the monster of a zx12R.

When I found the group and signed up for a test ride with Tim he made me feel confident and taught me how to read the road, how to concentrate on lines and position as oppose to speed and leaning over.

It’s been a whirlwind from absolute beginner in July to passing with a First in November and now I feel totally confident on the bike, I’ve realised that you can be so much safer when your confident and this confidence comes from anticipation.

However after riding a very leant over aggressive stance sports bike I Can’t believe that at the ripe of old age of 40 I’ve only just learnt that OAP is not just an acronym.
