We’re here to help local drivers get more enjoyment out of being on the road. Our experts can help you learn new skills, develop existing ones and have fun behind the wheel.
The group runs three Advanced Driver courses per year starting in January, May and September. They deliver advanced driving stemming from the police’s Roadcraft driving manual, helping you to improve your skills, anticipation and enjoyment behind the wheel.
To join one of our Advanced Driver courses (see Course sign-up procedure) contact our pre-course co-ordinator, Kay Heppenstall, or to arrange a free, no obligation driving assessment or taster session, please contact our Associate co-ordinator, Alan Prescott: Contact Us.
Our next course nominally starts in September but since most of our Observers are not resuming observing at the moment, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, places will be extremely limited. If you are considering doing an Advanced Driver Course with the St. Helens Group then get in touch and we can discuss. Any Associate classroom sessions will be carried out online - unless the situation changes and we are able to offer face-to-face presentations in a Covid safe way.
