TD Ride Saturday 12 Oct 19
Border House Tea Rooms Masham vis Fewston Farm Shop & Cafe
Lead: Alan Riddington

A warm sunny day for the ride meant 10 riders elected to follow me on the TD Ride up to Masham, with a new 'T5er' John Cowles joining us on his first ride, and Donna kindly agreeing to cover the back Marker duties for our jaunt up to the Dales.

After the brief we lined up for a Left out of Squires to go through Micklefield before a Right at Hook Moor to take us to Towton missing the muddy roads past the Farm & the Ponds we usually take, on toward Tadcaster but taking a left through Stutton and over the A64 and down to Bramham, ( This being an unknown route for Paul, so confusing him when we never arrived in Wetherby ) and heading over to East Rigton, East Keswick and picking up the A659 to Harewood ( Harwood as the locals say ) before dropping down Harwood Bank running into Poole in Wharefdale, and turning Right over the river before a Left toward Leathley and left again for Farnley and Lindley Woods and Fewston Reservoir's before taking the Right turn following the signs for the Farm Shop and Cafe for an excellent Hot Pork Pie and Tea, ( Jude decided to save her Pork Pie for later and had it safely stashed in her pocket ).

10 for Tea

Team Piccy taken ( By a kind lady who had just passed her test – well done ) Graham ( Busy touting Xmas function tickets ) & Anne left to make their way home, leaving 8 to continue up to Masham, and with a left onto the A59 Very Busy so took a little while to all get out ) and off we go for a Left past Memwith Hill, Dacre Banks, Summerbridge ( We tried to loose Donna at the unmarked x roads Junction, but She's far to clever and eventually appered with her tail enders being sheppered along )

The Weather and Roads all being wonderful a cracking pace was being kept by all as we crossed over the Tops to Risplith and then turned Left for Kirkby Malzeard and Grewelthorpe, we did pass through a large puddle ( I presume a flooded road earlier in the week ) but apart from the small bit of road everywhere else had been really good and so the final run into Masham was the finish of a great ride with a decent pace being kept, Donna doing a good job looking after all in the group, and time for Lunch in a very busy Masham Market Square. Lunch taken ( Jude tucking into her now well travelled Pork Pie ) and meeting up with all the associates and trainee observers.
