Remembering Ralph Silvester

We have just learned of the passing of Ralph Silvester of YAM and his blue Harley fame. Many of you will remember his slow, confident, arm waving rides around the cones in Squires' car park. Ralph was an active observer with YAM until approximately 2005/2006 and he has trained some of the current observers. His sister-in-law contacted me this morning and I list below the notice in today's Yorkshire Post:
SILVESTER 
Ralph
of Hatfield, Doncaster, passed away 
5th January surrounded by family,
aged 74 years.
Adored Husband of Jean, 
dearly loved dad of Tara, Jonathan and Fiona and much loved grandad.

Funeral service at St Lawrence Church, Hatfield Friday 18th January 2 p.m. 
Flowers welcome.

I shall be attending his funeral and look forward to seeing those of you who are able to make it.
