Poppy Appeal

Posted on 29/10/20 |
Hi folks, as you will know the British Legion is holding this year's remembrance poppy appeal next month and because of the difficulties of door to door and shop based collections due to Covid, Clive Baxter of T5 and Army fame has asked us to make our own appeal in his own words below:

Hi All

The T5 working group, via the YAM Committee, have given their blessing for me to ask you for donations for the Poppy Appeal.

As you will all be aware because of Covid-19 there are numerous restrictions imposed on our lives, the selling of Poppies this year being one of them.

Normally people of all ages but particularly my age are the ones who sell poppies, stood at the entrances of various shops and department stores.

Unfortunately these tend to be in the most vulnerable category when it comes to Covid, therefore the British Legion in their wisdom have cancel all doorstop selling.

To that end I would like to invite each and everyone of you to make an online donation by clicking on the link below to support what I hope you believe is a worthy cause.

British Legion

Please note Sainsbury have said they will continue this year with their instore selling of poppies, if that is your preference.

Let me take this opportunity to thank you all for any donation given.

Kind regards

Clive
