Graham's half-day to Horbury - 12/11/22

Posted on 13/11/22 |

What a lovely start to Graham's half-day, social ride to Horbury.
The weather was very kind to us, being dry, sunny and 10 deg.
It was like the old days, with lots of T5'ers and Observers milling about at Squires – a great atmosphere.

Graham's satnav gave up the ghost, so he led a very modified route from memory.
There were 9 bikes, and 10 people eventually set off South thru Burton Salmon, Beal, then East to Cridling Stubbs and Norton to The Hayloft Cafe, at The Iron Horse Equestrian Centre, near Moss.
Great service and we had our own, exclusive Garden Room to enjoy.
Dave Brown left us here.

After refreshments, including tea, coffee, cake and meringue, we headed West, back towards Norton, through Kirk Smeaton, East Hardwick, Purston Jaglin, Fitzwilliam, Notton, Horbury Bridge and finished at the Retro Roadhouse cafe in Horbury.
Anne had arranged a surprise for us.....Donna met us there, and it was a great place for the reunion - we all chatted for ages. They were expecting us and quickly served everyone with substantial food at Yorkshire prices!

Lynne, our latest T5 recruit, had arranged to meet Julie (from the GS Ladies) there and we found out that Julie was a former T5'er! She said may make an effort and join us on a ride one day!

Thank you Dave Roo for herding duties, as back marker.

Attendees....Anne, Steve and Archie Dufton, Bob Tingle, Dave Brown, Dave Roo, Gerry Houston, Graham West, Lynne De Dominicis, Stephen Eeles.
