TD Ride to Rabbit Hill, Jude Eason, 26th September 2020

Posted on 26/09/20 |
Eleven T5-ers turned up at Monks Cross for this ride led by newbie leader Jude Eason. In accordance with the current rules the group divided into 2, with stalwart Graham West volunteering to lead the second group. Jude had shared the ride route using MyRouteApp after Graham's excellent webinar earlier in the week.

Leaving Monks Cross we headed for Sheriff Hutton, and the lovely curvy roads through the Howardian Hills to Castle Howard, then turned North through Coneysthrope, Amotherby and Normanby to arrive at the Shed 32 Cafe in Kirkby Moorside for a T&P stop.

Suitably refreshed we headed west before striking out cross country to Nunnington and Hovingham, and then following the more familiar route through Brandsby, Crayke, Easingwold, Youlton and across the rattly old Aldwark bridge. A short detour through Great Ouseburn and Marton-cum-Grafton saw us arrive at the delightful Courtyard cafe on the A168.

Thanks to Jude for leading her first ride, and to husband Martin for back-marker duties.

At the half-way stop and the lunch stop the two groups met and found it hard to keep the discipline of separation. Hence only one of the 2 groups in the photo.
