Daffodils and Red Kites - Graham West - 26th March 2022

Posted on 26/03/22 |

10 of us met at Squires in glorious, early morning sunshine.

Graham W (Leader), Anne D, Steve D, Dave R, Martin E (Back Marker), Jude E, Stephen E, Kate B, Bob T and Chris Hill.

We turned left out of Squires and headed towards Barwick In Elmet but my Satnav didn't like the route and totally confused itself and me. After a quick detour via the Leeds ring-road, we finally rejoined my original route on the way to Collingham, after missing out Thorner.

We eventually arrived at The Courtyard Cafe (HG5 0FF) who quickly sorted our tea, coffee and cake requirements.

From there we went thru Marton cum Grafton and Green Hammerton, thru Tadcaster and Angram, eventually arriving at The Motorist Cafe near Sherburn Airfield (LS25 6JE).

We saw hosts of waving daffodils and a lot of Red Kites. We had some laughs, and repaired one bike with help from a cyclist.

Thank you Martin E for back marking duties.

Cheers, Graham W
