It's UK Road Safety Week (14-20 November 2022), promoted by the road safety charity Brake.
The theme of Road Safety Week 2022 is SAFE ROADS FOR ALL, bringing together communities and professionals to shout out for everyone's right to make safe and healthy journeys on safe roads.
As part of the week, IAM Lincolnshire has been sharing road safety messages from Brake and other road safety organisations. We attended Boston College on Thursday 17th November and delivered several road safety presentations to students.
We are also running a competition on Twitter where a young driver (aged 17-24) can win a fully-funded Advanced Driving Course worth £175.
Our previous Road Safety Week work includes messages from many of the organisations involved in road safety work throughout Lincolnshire.
In 2021, Sgt Mike Templeman, a Response Sgt from Lincolnshire Police joined IAM Lincolnshire on social media and YouTube to share several important road safety messages, including specific messages about the FATAL4 offences and to young drivers.
Sgt Templeman’s ‘Tempo Talks’ series is available on our website and YouTube here.
For Road Safety Week in 2020, we brought a variety of organisations across Lincolnshire together to share their road safety messages. This includes Lincolnshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, East Midlands Ambulance Service, Lincs Fire and Resuce, Lincolnshire Police and LIVES. You can view those videos on our Twitter page here.
