Solihull Advanced Motorists

SAM is one of around 180 Local Groups across the UK, affiliated to IAM RoadSmart. We are all volunteers, keen to promote the improvement of driving standards. Our group focuses on advanced car driving in the Solihull area.

Advanced drivers develop skills and knowledge, coupled with increased confidence, to be able to safely exploit opportunities to make better progress on their journey through improved observation and hazard awareness.

We attend local public events in the Solihull area to promote advanced driving and offer free assessment drives, in their own vehicles, for full licence holding drivers.

For new (Associate) members who wish to take the IAMRS Advanced Driving Test Associate we run courses comprising evening theory sessions which complement drives with one of our qualified observers who will provide feedback and coaching.

For our Full (qualified) and Associate (new) Members and their guests, we hold monthly social events with expert guest speakers; usually, but not always, with a driving or road safety theme.

The last meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday 7th December 2021 at the Royal British Legion Club in Knowle.

Members and guests welcome!

Team sizes will be restricted to 4 persons max as larger teams tend to have an advantage over smaller ones.

This traditionally takes the form of a general knowledge quiz including questions on motoring. Fantastic prizes for the winners!!

A buffet and seasonal nibbles will also be provided.

We recommend you park at the rear of the building and enter directly through the rear entrance directly into the function room.
