How do I book my advanced test?
It’s easy. Just book online (under the 'Courses' section and select 'Tests and retests') or call our customer care team on 0300 303 1134.
What do I get for my £149 membership course fee?
It includes membership of your local IAM group, the active support of your local group through your observed rides or drives, the Advanced Rider/Driver handbook, the advanced test itself, and one year’s IAM membership. If you’re taking the Advanced Rider course, your observer may ask you to help towards their fuel costs. IAM membership
How do I become a member?
You have to pass the IAM Advanced Driver or Advanced Rider course to become a full member or hold a recognised qualification to qualify by exemption.
Where's my membership number?
Your membership number will be on your membership card and included in any correspondence we have with you. If you’ve misplaced it, call us on 0300 303 1134 and we’ll give you your number. Be aware that we may need to ask you for information such as your date of birth and address.
How do I renew my membership?
You can do this online by logging into your IAM online account and choosing the purchase 'my renewal’ option in your profile. Or call our customer care team on 0300 303 1134.
How do I login to my account online?
Click the 'Log in' button on the top right member and enter your email address or membership number (e.g. M00001234).
If you have forgotten your password, please click the link and you will be sent an email to reset it. If the system doesn't recognise your email address it maybe because it isn't on your membership record, if you have this problem or any other problems logging in please call us on 0300 3031134.
Please note: if it is the first time you are logging into the new IAM RoadSmart website you will need to reset your password as the one from the old website will not be recognised - this is for security reasons.

Will I get cheaper insurance
When you pass the Advanced Driver or Rider test you can ask our affiliated insurer IAM Surety for a quote. It’ll be based on several factors, so we can’t guarantee anything. Visit the 'Local group' page from the main menu and you will be able to find details of local groups, who’ll be happy to answer any questions about your course or the group.

How can I reduce my fleet costs?

How do I buy driving courses for business drivers and riders and find materials to help them?
Once we have discussed with you the best solution for your drivers, we will agree a programme of driver training and assessment that will achieve your goals. We will carry out all course bookings on days and at times to suit and all employees will be provided with the materials they need to undertake each course effectively. How do I book delegates onto driver risk management courses I have bought?
We want to ensure your courses are delivered when and where you want them for the benefit of your drivers and business. So we do this for you by agreeing dates and times when our experienced trainers can be available to your staff, minimising disruption and downtime. IAM RoadSmart has years of experience in helping professional drivers obtain the necessary qualifications and licences.
