Why should you take it?

As an existing IAM RoadSmart member, in either our Advanced Driver or commercial vehicle categories, then you can easily extend your expertise even further with an Advanced Rider Course.

Our flagship course for bikers is designed to equip you with the knowledge you need to stay safe on the road no matter what hazards may be lurking around the corner.

With support and guidance from your local IAM RoadSmart group, our expert will teach you the advanced skills and techniques you need to make your motorcycling adventures even more exhilarating and enjoyable. (And you didn’t think that was possible!).

What can you expect?

Once you have completed the Advanced Rider Course and pass the test, the Advanced Rider certificate will be added to your membership record with us – and you can share your place among the elite few drivers and riders in the UK who have achieved both qualifications.

Already have the skills?

This course is exclusively for existing IAM RoadSmart members who now wish to gain our advanced qualification in a 2nd category. As you already have advanced skills, each session will focus on any questions or gaps in knowledge that may need a polish or refresh.

What to expect

Sign up and you’ll receive a welcome pack and course manual, followed by an introduction to your nearest local IAM RoadSmart group for your 2nd category. Our skilled experts will take you through a number of observed rides to prepare you for your advanced test.
