Course overview

Your knowledge and skills on your motorcycle are proven every day, as a professional who uses their vehicle for work. It’s no secret that motorcyclists face more dangers on the road than drivers, you are less protected and face more hazards.

Joining IAM RoadSmart as a rider through Member by Exemption means you don’t need to complete our Advanced Driver course.

We welcome professional riders from a variety of industries, and we firmly believe that advanced riding skills are a crucial part to improving road safety and reducing the number of collisions that happen daily on the UK’s roads.

IAM RoadSmart members receive regular charity updates, a Members magazine, invites to skills days (hosted on race circuits), exclusive member discounts on various products including advantageous car, motorcycle & home insurance products.

To become a Member by Exemption you need to have one of these professional riding qualifications:

Police Service:

• Standard Response Motorcyclist
• Advanced Motorcyclist (F1RST)
• Garda

Other:

• DVSA – Cardington Special Test
• RoSPA – Gold Award and Silver Award
