Motorways present a variety of unique hazards. Our one-to-one expert coaching will help you to deal with them effectively.
On-Road: Motorway Driving - £49
Motorways have been off-limits for learner drivers, and are still not covered as part of the driving test, so there are many drivers on UK roads who have never had any formal training on how to drive safely on these roads. As a result, many inexperienced drivers find motorways intimidating, and amongst experienced drivers there are widely varying attitudes about the correct use of lanes, appropriate speeds and following distances, and the correct techniques for joining and leaving the carriageway.
What are the specific challenges of driving on these types of roads? What are the many rules and regulations? How can you share a multi-lane motorway safely with other types of vehicle, particularly at busy times of the day? If you are daunted by the prospect of driving on motorways, or are a novice driver who has yet to journey onto these critical roads, our Motorway Driving module will help you to develop the skills and confidence you need. At just £49 for 75 minutes' one-to-one on-road training with an IAM RoadSmart expert, delivered in your own car at a time and place to suit you, you’ll learn how to successfully deal with the variety of unique hazards that motorways present.
