To become a licenced taxi driver, most licensing officers will request that you pass a formal assessment to ensure that you are a proficient driver, and that you are able to provide a safe and considerate service for passengers.
IAM RoadSmart is an official taxi assessment provider for a growing number of local councils. Book your assessment with us if you wish to operate as a taxi driver in any of the following locations:
Bassetlaw, Broadland, Cherwell, Cheshire, Colchester, Derby, Durham, Guildford, Harlow, Leeds, Leicester, South Northamptonshire, Sedgemoor, Stevenage, Tameside, Warwick, Wycombe, South Cambridgeshire, Selby, Reading, South Norfolk.

Please note: if you need to cancel your assessment you must do so a minimum of seven days before the scheduled date or you will not be refunded.

Your details will be forwarded to a local assessor and you will be contacted as soon as possible
Schedule your assessment
You and your assessor will arrange a convenient time and location to hold your session
Ensure that your vehicle is suitable for test purposes
You must have the appropriate insurance, valid MOT and tax
Complete your assessment
Upon successful completion you will be issued with a certificate and a copy of your Driver Evaluation Report
