IAM RoadSmart has stars, offers and exclusives at Motorcycle Live

Posted on 04/11/19 |

The UK’s biggest independent road safety charity IAM RoadSmart has announced it will be exhibiting at Motorcycle Live – the country’s biggest motorcycle show - for the fourth year running.

The show is billed as a fun-packed family day out with opportunities to see the best the bike world has to offer, a chance to meet the stars, and for children and adults to experience riding for themselves on a special indoor course.

One of those stars, Queen of Bikes Maria Costello MBE, the charity’s rider ambassador, will be on the IAM RoadSmart stand on Thursday 21 November – at a time to be confirmed soon.

Maria is one of the country’s most successful and accomplished female racers, who has also recently branched into a four-wheeled racing.

She has made more than 40 starts at the daunting Isle of Man TT and became the first woman ever to claim a podium at the 2016 Classic TT alongside 23 times TT winner John McGuinness.

For five years Maria held the Guinness World Record as the fastest woman to lap the Isle of Man TT course, when she lapped the Snaefell mountain course at an average speed of 114.73 mph in 2004.

Throughout the nine days of the show, IAM RoadSmart will be selling its much-respected advanced rider and advanced driver courses at the special price of £99 each. This offer is exclusive to visitors to the show, and not available online.

Next year’s dates for the popular IAM RoadSmart Skills Days for bikes and cars will be unveiled at the show – giving visitors the chance to hear the dates first.

IAM RoadSmart’s renowned Skills Days allow riders and drivers to learn skills from real experts whilst using their own motorcycles or cars on race tracks across the country.

Skills Days are an enjoyable and sociable opportunity to use the racing circuit as a classroom and learn some real precision riding and driving, ready to put those skills into action on the public roads.

Throughout the show there will be a host of great prizes to be won from IAM RoadSmart partner companies on the stand:

Mike Quinton, IAM RoadSmart Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are very much looking forward to being at Motorcycle Live – it is a colourful and vibrant show and represents everything that is fantastic in the world of motorbikes. It’s a good fun day out for the whole the family.

“Through our advanced motorcycling course and Skills Days, we can show how you can ride safely and have fun at the same time. Learning amazing road skills and showing you have the ability to handle any situation is a very satisfying thing, and we want to empower bikers in this way.”

Since its establishment in 1956 more than half-a-million people have taken IAM RoadSmart’s advanced driving or advanced rider course. The charity introduced the advanced motorcycle test in 1976.

Motorcycle Live takes place at the Birmingham NEC from 16-24 November. IAM RoadSmart will be in Hall 2 Stand 2B54. For more information visit https://www.motorcyclelive.co.uk/
