Monday needn’t be blue – as long as you stick with IAM RoadSmart

Posted on 17/01/20 |

Blue Monday, the day people claim is the most depressing one of the year, is next Monday, 20 January.

But IAM RoadSmart has come up with a great reason to smile – everyone booking one of our advanced driver and rider courses on Monday 20 January will receive a warm and cosy IAM RoadSmart fleece absolutely free! What’s more, you can have your first name stitched into it too.

The UK’s largest independent road safety charity is urging drivers and riders not to bring their ‘winter blues’ onto the road today, or on any other day during the winter. The new year challenge of dark mornings and poor weather combined with the Christmas bills landing on the doormat has the potential for people to lose attention on the commute or school run.

The acclaimed advanced driver and rider courses have been taken and passed by more than half-a-million people since the charity’s creation over 60 years ago.

The courses are taken at the participant’s own pace, in his or her home area and in their own vehicle. The sessions are carried out on a one-to-one basis by fully trained volunteers.

Not only do the courses help increase awareness of safer driving and riding, they build confidence behind the wheel and in the saddle. IAM RoadSmart believes those who complete the DVSA-accredited course will enjoy their driving and riding more and reach their destinations feeling less stressed.

Every advanced driver and rider is making a contribution towards road safety in the UK and helping to reduce the number of people who are killed or injured on our roads.

Mike Quinton, Chief Executive Officer at IAM RoadSmart, said: “We know the skills we pass on through our amazing volunteer network save lives and help to make UK roads safer.

“If you’ve always thought of doing an advanced driver or rider course, book on Monday and wrap up warm this winter in our branded IAM RoadSmart fleece. That’s sure to brighten your day!”

Please note the free fleece offer is only available to those who book their course by phone. Don’t forget to specify which first name, if any, you would like stitched into it. Our hotline, on 0300 303 1134, is open from 8.30am to 6pm.

And don’t let today, or any Monday, give you the blues!
