Things are better when done together, start your IAM RoadSmart journey this Valentine’s Day

Posted on 07/02/20 |

Valentine’s Day comes but once a year and this year IAM RoadSmart has asked its members to share their love stories to inspire others to take up advanced driving and riding.

The stories, which are being posted on IAM RoadSmart’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts, come with a special Valentine’s deal  – for every two advanced driving or riding courses you buy between Friday 7 February and Valentine’s Day, Friday 14 January (inclusive), you and your loved one will each receive a smart IAM RoadSmart-branded polo shirt absolutely free.

Members of the UK’s largest independent road safety charity have been providing their favourite car or bike, most-loved road to drive on and driving and riding love stories which are being shared using the hashtags #ShareTheLove,#LoveYourJourney and #BetterTogether.

Members from across the country including London, Kent, Cheshire, Oxfordshire and Northumbria have all shared their passion for cars, bikes and the open road.

Kate Tonge, director of membership, said: “Things are better when done together which is why we’re encouraging people to join up as a couple for their advanced driving or riding courses.

“Not only is this a great way to spend time together and meet other like-minded people, the confidence we know advanced driving and riding skills provide means there’s also the opportunity to fall in love with life behind the wheel or in the saddle all over again.”

The DVSA-accredited IAM RoadSmart advanced driver and rider courses are taken at the participant’s own pace, in your own local area and in your own vehicle. The sessions are carried out on a one-to-one basis by fully trained volunteers.

Members’ feedback highlights the fact that taking the advanced course helps increase awareness of safer driving and riding, build confidence behind the wheel and in the saddle and increases driving and riding enjoyment.

Members also have access to a range of benefits, including an exclusive insurance scheme which can offer discounts on a range of insurance products.

With five people a day, on average, killed on roads in the UK, what could be better than knowing you and your loved one are making an active contribution towards road safety as part of a 90,000-strong IAM RoadSmart community with over 180 groups nationwide?

IAM RoadSmart’s polo shirt offer runs from 7 to 14 February only.

You can take advantage of this limited-time offer by calling the dedicated customer hotline on 0300 303 1134 and quoting the reference LOVE20. There is a choice of sizes and colours and each shirt can be personalised.

IAM RoadSmart has a mission to make better drivers and riders in order to improve road safety, inspire confidence and make driving and riding enjoyable. It does this through a range of courses for all road users, from online assessments through to the advanced driving and riding tests. IAM RoadSmart is the trading name of all businesses operated by the UK’s largest road safety charity, the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) and was formed in April 2016 combining the IAM, IAM Drive & Survive, PDS and IAM Driver Retraining Academy. The organisation has 92,000 members and campaigns on road safety on their behalf. At any one time there are over 7,000 drivers and riders actively engaged with IAM RoadSmart’s courses, from members of the public to company drivers, while our Driver Retraining Academy has helped 2,500 drivers to shorten their bans through education and support programmes.
